Creative Discovery Museum is committed to keeping its visitors, staff and volunteers as safe as possible. The Museum has implemented policies and procedures to make sure families have a fun, but safe, experience. On this page, you'll find information on what to expect when your family visits CDM. When you and your family are ready, we can't wait to have a CDM Playdate!

Play It Safe

CDM will continue to "Play It Safe" by implementing new policies and procedures to keep our visitors, staff and volunteers safe.

Timed Tickets
  • All guests, including members, must have a timed ticket prior to visiting Creative Discovery Museum. CDM is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Timed tickets are available for 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased or reserved at cdmfun.org/tickets.
Masks and Face Coverings
  • Masks are strongly recommended regardless of vaccination status.
  • If you have a medical mask exemption, please contact Guest Relations at least 72 hours prior to your visit to reserve your spot at (423) 648-6052.
  • Due to the structure of certain programs and Museum spaces, masks will be required and medical exemptions will not be permitted in the following: Make It Workshop, Art Studio and PlayGym.
Sick Guests
  • Sick visitors will not be allowed in the Museum. If a member of your party is feeling ill, please contact CDM to reschedule your visit at (423) 648-6052
Capacity and Distancing
  • In order to maintain social distancing, daily capacity will be limited.
  • Event, program and workshop capacities will be limited.

Hygiene and Cleaning
  • Hand washing will be encouraged with 10 additional hand sanitizing and hand washing stations.
  • CDM staff will be cleaning exhibits and high touch surfaces throughout the day.
  • A complete sanitization of the Museum will take place after hours on a daily basis.
  • Ick Buckets continue to be available in exhibits. If a child in your party puts a toy in their mouth, please place the toy in the Ick Bucket.
Amenities
  • All exhibits will be open for play and exploration.
  • Some special programming areas will be closed, such as Culinary Corner.
  • Cafe Dino-mite is open. Vending machines are available and will be cleaned frequently.
  • No outside food or drink will be allowed in the building.
  • The Museum Shop is open.
  • The elevator is open. We encourage visitors to practice social distancing and limit uses to one family unit at a time.
  • Wheelchairs are available and sanitized after each use.
  • Sensory Bags are available and sanitized after each use.

CDM’s reopening policies and procedures are based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and align with local and state reopening guidelines. In addition, CDM vetted their policies and procedures with local pediatrician Dr. Jennifer Keates Baleeiro, a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology doctor with Erlanger Hospital, and local infectious disease specialists. The Museum will continue to evaluate its new measures and make changes to the guidelines as needed.

COVID-19 Warning

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures—for you, our other guests, and our employees. Please follow all posted instructions while visiting Creative Discovery Museum. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting Creative Discovery Museum, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
